Assumptions and limitations
- Use recorded saves and shots on goal from the same period, excluding attempts that were never shots on goal under the applicable scoring rules.
- Counts must be whole numbers, with shots positive and saves between zero and shots.
- The percent and decimal outputs express the same ratio: 90% equals 0.900.
- The ratio does not adjust for shot difficulty or defensive support. With zero saves and a zero fraction, an unknown shot count cannot be uniquely inferred.
Common questions
Can saves exceed shots faced?
No. The entered saves are part of the entered shots on goal, so that combination is rejected.
