How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Inputs and results stay in this browser tab. Bookify does not upload or store the values you enter.
Formula and method
In initial displayed units, Length 3, Width 3, Depth / Height 3, Material price per unit 10 gives Volume 1, Total price 10.
Box volume = length×width×depth; hollow shapes subtract the inner cross-section; cost = volume×matching unit price.
Worked example
Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.
- Length
- 3 ft
- Width
- 3 ft
- Depth / Height
- 3 ft
- Material price per unit
- 10 USD / cu yd
- Volume
- 1 cu yd
- Total price
- 10 USD
Assumptions and limitations
- Hollow dimensions must leave a physical positive cross-section. Shapes are ideal boxes, cylinders, cones, hemispheres or supplied-area prisms/pyramids. The example uses 3 ft edges and a price per cubic yard.
- Use compatible measurement units. Clear an unknown before solving for it, and lock independent known values when comparing changes. Currency choices label amounts without exchange-rate conversion.
Common questions
Can I solve backward from the result?
Clear the unknown and enter independent known values. A rounded whole count cannot uniquely recover a continuous dimension; keep the original measured dimensions for procurement planning.
