Formula and method
At a standard rate of 20 per hour, 40 standard hours, eight hours at 1.5×, two at 2× and one at 3× total 1,180 before deductions.
Gross pay = standard rate × (standard hours + 1.5 × time-and-a-half hours + 2 × double-time hours + 3 × triple-time hours)

Assumptions and limitations
- Classify the hours yourself for the same pay period. Each hour belongs in exactly one pay category. Enter zero for an unused category; a blank means unknown.
- The standard hourly rate must be positive and hours must be nonnegative. Premium rates remain linked to the standard rate when edited backward.
- This arithmetic does not decide overtime eligibility, applicable thresholds, a jurisdiction’s rules or the legal regular rate. Bonuses and other payments can affect that regular rate. Taxes and deductions are excluded.
- Use a consistent currency when comparing amounts. Optional currency conversions use captured reference factors, not live exchange rates, bank quotes or fees.
Common questions
Are the premium hours counted again as standard hours?
No. The 1.5×, 2× and 3× categories already include their full hourly pay. Enter each worked hour once to avoid paying its standard component twice.
Can the calculator decide which hours qualify?
No. Supply hours already classified under the applicable rules or agreement. The tool totals those entered categories.
