Formula and method
One modern coin of each denomination from 1p through £2 has a combined nominal mass of 54.18 grams.
Mass in grams = 3.56×1p + 7.12×2p + 3.25×5p + 6.5×10p + 5×20p + 8×50p + 8.75×£1 + 12×£2.

Assumptions and limitations
- Use modern circulating coin specifications, including the current 12-sided £1 and small 5p/10p. Older coins and precious-metal collector issues can have different masses.
- Counts must be nonnegative whole numbers. This estimates nominal mint mass; wear and dirt alter measured mass.
- Clear an unknown editable field before solving an inverse; fixed selections and output-only fields cannot be inferred.
