Assumptions and limitations

  • This historical England/Northern Ireland residential purchase model covers 23 September 2022–30 October 2024. It does not use current rates, Scottish LBTT or Welsh LTT.
  • First-time eligibility is assumed when selected. Historical additional-property surcharge is 3%; nonresident surcharge is 2% for purchases at least £40,000 and also applies to first-time buyers.
  • Corporate higher rates, lease rent, relief exceptions and mixed transactions are omitted. The nonresident-first-time surcharge and £40,000 surcharge threshold correct captured omissions.
  • Clear an editable unknown before solving an inverse. Selection controls and forced outputs cannot be inferred.
