Formula and method
Three rectangular pieces measuring 100 by 50 by 10 centimeters each contain 0.15 m³ altogether. At a custom density of 2,000 kg/m³, they weigh 0.3 tonnes and cost 30 at 100 per tonne.
Rectangular volume = length × width × height; cylinder volume = π × radius² × thickness; total mass = piece volume × density × quantity

Assumptions and limitations
- The geometry describes solid rectangular or cylindrical pieces. Irregular pieces need a measured volume, and loose aggregate needs a bulk-volume model. Preset densities are approximate and should be replaced when supplier measurements are available.
- Enter dimensions, densities and prices that describe the actual project. Quantities absent from the formula are not added automatically.
Common questions
Is this suitable for loose landscape aggregate?
The geometry describes solid rectangular or cylindrical pieces. Irregular pieces need a measured volume, and loose aggregate needs a bulk-volume model. Preset densities are approximate and should be replaced when supplier measurements are available.
