How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Inputs and results stay in this browser tab. Bookify does not upload or store the values you enter.
Formula and method
In initial display units, Length (L) 20, Width (W) 10, Thickness (t) 1, Quantity of plates 2, Density 8000 gives Area 200, Volume 200, Total weight 3.2.
Mass = area×thickness×density×quantity; circular area = π×diameter²/4.

Assumptions and limitations
- Plates have uniform thickness and density, without holes, bevels or coatings. Listed material densities are approximate presets, not certified values for a specific alloy, temperature or batch. Select the custom material option and supply verified density when required. Quantity must be a positive whole count.
- Select compatible units and clear the quantity to solve before supplying the remaining measurements. Rounded purchase counts cannot uniquely recover a continuous dimension. Currency choices label amounts and do not convert exchange rates.
Common questions
How can I solve for a missing measurement?
Clear that field, then enter independent known values. Lock a known measurement to preserve it while changing another value. Procurement counts are rounded upward and cannot be reversed uniquely.
