Formula and method

A 3 × 2 meter rectangle covers 6 m². Pavers with effective dimensions of 20 × 10 centimeters each cover 0.02 m², requiring 300 pieces. At 1.50 per piece plus 20 per m² installation, the total is 570.

Pavers = round up(project area ÷ effective paver area); total = pavers × piece price + project area × installation rate

Common questions

Does the paver count include cutting waste and joints?

The model divides area by the entered effective paver footprint and rounds the total up once. It does not lay out a pattern or add cutting waste. Account for joints in the coverage dimensions and add an appropriate order allowance for cuts and breakage.
