Use the result with context

Results are estimates for planning and education. Confirm rates, taxes, fees, and legal requirements with the relevant institution or a qualified professional before making a financial decision.

Formula and method

Subtract purchase price from current price, then divide the gain by purchase price. A move from 80 to 100 gives a price gain of 20 and a capital gains yield of 25%.

Price gain = current price − purchase price; capital yield (%) = price gain ÷ purchase price × 100

Worked example

Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.
