Formula and method
A supplied nitrogen target of 48.8243 kg/ha with a 20% nitrogen product gives 244.1215 kg/ha of fertilizer under the captured rounded rate conversion.
Product rate = nitrogen rate/(N percent/100); product mass = product rate × area/92.903 m², using lb per 1000 ft² internally.

Assumptions and limitations
- The N-P-K analysis uses nitrogen, phosphate (P₂O₅) and potash (K₂O) label percentages, not elemental phosphorus and potassium.
- The nitrogen rate is your supplied agronomic target. No soil test, plant need or local application regulation is modeled.
- The area conversion uses the captured rounded 92.903 m² per 1000 ft². Displayed nutrient-rate conversions also retain their captured rounded factors.
- Bag equivalents can be fractional. Round purchases up separately when bags cannot be split; this tool does not round application mass.
- The captured model supports only positive N, P₂O₅ and K₂O label percentages and positive resulting nutrient rates. Zero-phosphate or zero-potash products are excluded; choose a different calculation for those products.
Common questions
Does the tool choose an appropriate nitrogen rate?
No. Obtain the target from a soil test or suitable local agronomic guidance.
Is the P percentage elemental phosphorus?
No. Standard fertilizer analysis reports phosphate as P₂O₅.
