Formula and method
One hour, 30 minutes and 36 seconds equals 1.51 hours, 90.6 minutes or 5,436 seconds.
H = h + m/60 + s/3600; total minutes = 60H; total seconds = 3600H

Assumptions and limitations
- This is an elapsed-duration conversion, with fixed units of 60 seconds per minute and 60 minutes per hour. It has no timezone, calendar or daylight-saving behavior.
- All components must be nonnegative. Values such as 90 minutes are allowed and contribute 1.5 hours.
- Outputs are three representations of the same duration; do not add them together. The retained solver calculates totals from components.
Common questions
Can I enter decimal minutes?
Yes. For example, 0.5 minutes contributes 30 seconds. Enter any other seconds component separately to avoid counting it twice.
