Formula and method
A 50 cm body length and 35 cm height with 3 in (7.62 cm) of chosen clearance give 57.62 cm length and 42.62 cm height.
Interior length estimate = body length + selected clearance; interior height estimate = natural height + selected clearance.

Assumptions and limitations
- The clearance selector retains 2, 3 and 4 inch choices. Choose an allowance suitable for the specific dog and product; the number alone does not establish acceptable fit.
- Use nose-to-tail-base length and the highest natural standing or seated head/ear height. Check usable interior dimensions rather than exterior product dimensions.
- This two-dimensional estimate does not calculate width or doorway access, growth, construction strength or transport eligibility. Confirm posture and movement in the actual kennel; carrier and airline requirements require their own current checks.
- Dimensions are positive. Clear an unknown body or crate dimension for the supported additive inverse. International inches are exactly 2.54 centimeters.
Common questions
Is adding clearance enough to approve a kennel?
No. Check usable width, doorway, standing and seated posture, turning and lying space in the actual product.
