How is subtitle reading speed calculated?

Characters per second equals visible character count divided by cue duration. This report excludes markup and whitespace from the count and compares each cue with your chosen threshold.

What are the limits and details?

Reading speed varies by language and audience. The default 20 characters per second is an editable screening threshold, not a universal accessibility standard.

Limits: 500,000 characters per text field; files up to 20 MB each, 10 files and 50 MB total. Processing stops after 30 seconds.
