How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Formula and method
In initial displayed units, Density 1, Volume 1 gives Weight 3.785411784.
Mass in kg = US gallon count×3.785411784 L/gal×density in kg/L.
Worked example

Assumptions and limitations
- Ingredient presets are fixed approximate bulk densities, not brand-specific measurements. Packing, preparation and temperature change density. The custom-density branch is the measured-material workflow. Gallon selectors identify liquid, imperial and dry conventions independently.
- Use compatible measurement units. Clear an unknown before solving for it, and lock independent known values when comparing changes. Currency choices label amounts without exchange-rate conversion.
Common questions
Can I solve backward from the result?
Clear the unknown and enter independent known values. A rounded whole count cannot uniquely recover a continuous dimension; keep the original measured dimensions for procurement planning.

All density-based gallon branches use the exact 3.785411784-liter US liquid gallon. Enforce the stated physical geometry and whole-count domains. Bookify uses exact customary mass and volume definitions for density units, replacing rounded factors in the reference. Bookify replaces the captured rounded US gallon with the exact 3.785411784-liter definition. The US dry gallon uses one eighth of a 2150.42-cubic-inch bushel, replacing the rounded captured volume factor.
