Assumptions and limitations
- Counts are nonnegative whole numbers. At least one recorded chance is required.
- The displayed output is a decimal fraction: 0.950 means 95%.
- These counts describe recorded fielding outcomes. The ratio alone does not measure range or compare different defensive opportunities.
- An inverse may be nonunique at zero or one. For example, zero errors and a fraction of one do not determine an unknown number of putouts.
Common questions
What happens with no recorded chances?
The ratio is undefined because its denominator is zero; enter at least one chance.
References
Bookify requires whole fielding counts, at least one chance, and a fraction between zero and one.
