Formula and method
At 25 currency units per hour, 40 paid hours per week and 52 paid weeks, annual gross pay is 52,000. An assumed flat 20% deduction leaves 41,600; this does not calculate a tax bill.
Gross annual pay = hourly rate × hours/week × paid weeks/year; after-deduction pay = gross pay × (1 − entered deduction fraction)

Assumptions and limitations
- The schedule is fixed across the entered paid weeks. Paid hours must be positive and no more than 168 per week; paid weeks range from 1 through 53.
- The initial 12% deduction value is an editable example, not a jurisdictional tax estimate. Replace it with your intended flat assumption.
- The deduction model applies one percentage to all earnings. It does not calculate brackets, allowances, credits, payroll contributions or benefit deductions.
- Hourly wage is positive. Money inputs use a consistent currency; this calculation needs no live currency exchange rate.
- For unpaid leave, reduce paid weeks or paid hours. Overtime premiums and irregular bonuses are not included in this model.
Common questions
Can I find hourly pay from an annual amount?
Yes. Enter annual gross pay and the paid schedule; the calculator divides by total paid hours.
Does the after-deduction figure equal my paycheck?
Only if the entered flat deduction assumption accurately describes the deductions you intend. Actual payroll calculations can use different rules and amounts.
