Formula and method

The example with 100 formal-dinner guests, dance floor, stage, one bar, one buffet and one waiter station totals 1,925 ft², or 178.838352 m².

Area in ft² = guests × (seating allowance + dance allowance) + guest adjustment + 100 × bars + 100 × buffets + 25 × waiter stations + stage allowance.

Assumptions and limitations

  • The fixed allowances are an illustrative layout budget, not fire-code occupancy, an evacuation plan or a vendor layout guarantee. Columns, aisles, tent geometry, furniture dimensions and local requirements must be checked separately.
  • Guest adjustments are a captured lookup table. Zero guests with no added facilities gives zero estimated area.

Common questions

How should I use this result?

The fixed allowances are an illustrative layout budget, not fire-code occupancy, an evacuation plan or a vendor layout guarantee. Columns, aisles, tent geometry, furniture dimensions and local requirements must be checked separately.

Can I change units or solve an inverse?

Choose a displayed unit before entering a measurement. Clear a known quantity before entering a compatible result; only the inverse relationships retained by this model are available.

References

Floor area is nonnegative. Use an exact sign predicate; zero is permitted for zero guests with no facilities, while tiny negative manually entered or inverse areas are invalid.
