How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Inputs and results stay in this browser tab. Bookify does not upload or store the values you enter.
Formula and method
scfm = 200.00000 cuftmin.
Qs = Qa (294.26 K / T) [(14.7 psi + pg)/14.7 psi].
Worked example
Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.
- Actual cubic feet per minute (ACFM)
- 100 cu ft/min
- Pressure
- 14.7 psig
- Temperature
- 21.11 °C
- Standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM)
- 200 cu ft/min
Assumptions and limitations
- Convert actual volumetric air flow to the fixed standard reference of 294.26 K and 14.7 psi absolute.
- Pressure is gauge pressure relative to the 14.7 psi reference atmosphere, and temperature is absolute in the gas-law ratio.
- This is an ideal dry-gas normalization; it does not account for humidity or compressibility. Standard cubic feet depend on the stated reference, which may differ from another supplier’s standard.
- Inputs and inverse outputs share the displayed unit selectors. Clear a known field to solve for it, and lock quantities that must remain fixed. Singular inverses may have no finite result.
Common questions
Why is 14.7 psi added?
The density ratio uses absolute pressure, so gauge pressure must be offset by the reference atmosphere.
Does SCFM equal ACFM?
They agree when the actual pressure and temperature match the stated reference conditions.

Enforce the explicitly stated physical domain: Absolute pressure must be positive. Actual flow must be positive. Standard flow must be positive.
