How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Formula and method
A rectangle 110 yards by 44 yards covers one international acre. At 2 per square yard, its entered unit-price total is 9,680.
Area = length × width; total price = area × entered price per matching area unit
Worked example
Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.
- Rectangle width
- 110 yd
- Rectangle length
- 44 yd
- Entered price per selected area unit
- 2 USD / yd²
- Area in selected unit
- 1 ac
- Calculated area price
- 9680 USD
Assumptions and limitations
- The parcel is modeled as a rectangle. Irregular boundaries, slope corrections and survey coordinates require a different area method.
- Customary lengths use the international foot; one acre is exactly 43,560 square feet or 4,046.8564224 square metres. This is not the retired US-survey-foot acre.
- Length, width, area and price inputs are positive in this model. Select the area unit attached to unit price independently from the result’s area unit.
- The soccer-field comparison uses the supplied fixed reference size; actual fields can differ. Entered cost excludes fees, taxes and any valuation adjustment.
Common questions
Why can I display acres but price by square yard?
The price field has its own denominator selector. The calculator aligns that unit with area before multiplying.
Can this measure an irregular property?
No. A length times width model represents a rectangle. Use measured shape decomposition or survey area for another shape.
