How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Formula and method
A center measured at (13 mm, 14 mm) relative to its intended (10 mm, 10 mm) has 10 mm diametric deviation. A supplied 12 mm RFS position tolerance leaves 2 mm margin.
Position deviation = 2√((measured x−true x)²+(measured y−true y)²); allowed deviation = positional tolerance + material-size bonus.

Assumptions and limitations
- This planar arithmetic assumes a diametric tolerance zone and the supplied material-condition callout. It does not establish datum alignment or full geometric inspection compliance. Captured coordinate controls require positive coordinates; translate the origin consistently if needed. Measured size must lie between the supplied size limits.
- Select compatible units and clear the quantity to solve before supplying the remaining measurements. Rounded purchase counts cannot uniquely recover a continuous dimension. Currency choices label amounts and do not convert exchange rates.
Common questions
How can I solve for a missing measurement?
Clear that field, then enter independent known values. Lock a known measurement to preserve it while changing another value. Procurement counts are rounded upward and cannot be reversed uniquely.
