How can I organize my personal spending by category?

Add an account with its opening balance, then enter transactions or map a CSV file. Use negative amounts for spending and positive amounts for income or refunds. Preview dates, amounts and possible duplicates before importing. Select recorded entries to assign a category, and save exact-payee rules for future entries.

Is this tool free, and are my files uploaded?

This tool is free with no account required. The work happens in your browser. Your input and files are not sent to a processing server.

What are the limits and details?

One browser-local ledger with 50 accounts, 200 categories, 50,000 transactions and a 20 MB backup. Currency and 0, 2 or 3 decimal places are fixed once accounts exist. CSV imports allow 5,000 rows or 5 MB. Budget history spans 360 months; forecasts span 366 days. Recurring suggestions are estimates from three observations. Reports include up to 500 selected entries and receipt references, not attachments. No bank access, payments, tax advice, currency conversion or automatic service changes.

Records stay in this browser. Keep backups before clearing site data. Use one currency per ledger; scheduled amounts are projections from your entries.
