Formula and method

Nominal GDP of 1,100 million divided by a deflator ratio of 1.1 gives real GDP of 1,000 million. A published base-100 index of 110 corresponds to a ratio of 1.1.

Real GDP = nominal GDP ÷ deflator ratio; deflator ratio = published base-100 deflator ÷ 100
