1,000 MB = 1 GB in decimal notation; 1,024 MiB = 1 GiB in binary notation. Choose the 1,000-based mode for MB and GB or the 1,024-based mode for MiB and GiB. Binary quantities use the IEC names mebibytes and gibibytes. This does not equate 1,000 MB with 1,024 MiB.
