Use the result with context
Results are estimates for planning and education. Confirm rates, taxes, fees, and legal requirements with the relevant institution or a qualified professional before making a financial decision.
Formula and method
Forty conversions from 800 clicks give a 5% conversion rate. If tracking counts 120 conversions from 100 clicks, the event-per-click rate is 120%.
Conversion rate (%) = credited conversions / clicks or visits × 100

Assumptions and limitations
- Use matching reporting periods and attribution definitions for numerator and denominator. The denominator must be positive.
- Conversions may be zero or fractional when attribution splits credit. The rate can exceed 100% when multiple conversion events are counted per interaction.
- Website mode divides by visits, not unique users. A session-based conversion rate and a user-based rate are different metrics.
- This calculator reports a conversion rate only. Revenue, ad spend, profit, return on ad spend and return on investment are not calculated.
Common questions
Can a conversion rate exceed 100%?
Yes for an event-per-interaction metric that counts multiple conversion actions. It does not mean more than 100% of distinct visitors converted.
References
Bookify accepts zero credited conversions and zero conversion rates while retaining positive denominators; fractional attribution and rates over 100% remain supported.
