How can I follow a recipe without losing my place?

Start a cooking session from a saved recipe and choose its multiplier. The session keeps a snapshot of the ingredients and steps, so later recipe edits do not change the recipe in progress. Check ingredients and completed steps, move forward or back, and use a timer that retains its deadline after reload. Timers show in the open workspace without sound or background alerts.

Is this tool free, and are my files uploaded?

This tool is free with no account required. Recipes, plans and backups stay in your browser. When you use website import, the public recipe URL is sent to Bookify so it can read the page without your login cookies. Pasted recipe data is parsed locally; saved recipes are not uploaded.

What are the limits and details?

One local collection with 200 recipes, 1,000 fresh meals, 200 prep batches and 20 cooking sessions. Each recipe supports 100 ingredients and 100 steps; backups are limited to 10 MB. Grocery snapshots allow 2,000 rows across up to 91 days. Imports read public HTTP/HTTPS pages up to 2 MB and extract Recipe JSON-LD, with manual review required. No accounts, sync, nutrition analysis, food-safety assessment, automatic pantry deduction or background alarms.

Unknown quantities remain unspecified. Review imported units and servings. Grocery lists, prep batches and cooking sessions are saved snapshots. Keep backups; website imports send the public URL to Bookify.
