Formula and method

A 20 × 30 cm rectangular bin, 50 cm high with 10 cm overhang, gives a 50 × 72.5 cm liner.

Flat width = half perimeter; height = bin height + overhang + base allowance

Assumptions and limitations

  • Bag width is its flat width, approximately half the rim perimeter. Height includes user-selected overhang and a geometric base allowance. Material stretch, seams and supplier sizing may require extra room.

Common questions

What does this estimate assume?

Bag width is its flat width, approximately half the rim perimeter. Height includes user-selected overhang and a geometric base allowance. Material stretch, seams and supplier sizing may require extra room.

Can I find a missing input?

Clear the unknown field and enter compatible known values. The controls retain supported inverse calculations, while rounded counts and one-way outputs stay directional.
