Formula and method
For one panel covering a 100 cm span at 2× fullness, the captured 2 inch side allowance gives a cut width of 205.08 cm.
Cut width = covered span × fullness + 2 inches; total length = per-panel cut length × panel count

Assumptions and limitations
- Enter the span covered by one panel. For equal panels sharing a wider opening, divide the covered span among panels before entering it; the model does not divide width automatically.
- Fullness choices multiply the span by 2, 2.5 or 3, then add a fixed 2 inch side allowance. This is the required cut width, not the width of a purchased fabric roll.
- Captured heading/hem allowances are 8.5 inches for rod pocket, 10 inches for grommet/pleated, and 4.5 inches for cuffed tabs. Non-tab modes also add half the entered rod circumference. Cuffed tabs add the separate loop-length allowance.
- Linear length assumes each panel fits across the available fabric width. Joining widths, pattern repeats, shrinkage, seam plans and cutting waste require separate allowances.
Common questions
Can I use the linear total when my fabric roll is narrower?
Not directly. If the required panel width exceeds the usable roll width, additional fabric widths and joining seams are needed. Plan that layout before purchasing.
