How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Inputs and results stay in this browser tab. Bookify does not upload or store the values you enter.
Formula and method
10 g in 100 mL gives 10 g per 100 mL, conventionally 10% mass/volume.
w/v percent = 100 m/V; molarity = solute mass/(molar mass × solution volume)
Worked example
Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.

- Mass volume percent (w/v%)
- Mass of solute
- 10 g
- Volume of solution
- 100 mL
- Concentration
- 10 m/v %
Assumptions and limitations
- Mass/volume percent means grams per 100 mL; it is not a dimensionless mass fraction. Mass-percent mode uses total solution mass, and molarity uses final solution volume.
- Dilution assumes conserved solute and compatible concentration units. Density mode uses solution density, not pure-solute density, and assumes the stated solvent basis for mass per 100 g water.
Common questions
What does this model assume?
Mass/volume percent means grams per 100 mL; it is not a dimensionless mass fraction. Mass-percent mode uses total solution mass, and molarity uses final solution volume.
Can I solve backward?
Clear the unknown value and enter compatible known values. Choices, one-way outputs and singular boundary cases cannot always be inverted.
