Formula and method
At one page per minute, a 300-page book takes five hours of reading. Reading 30 minutes each day gives 30 pages per day and a ten-day plan.
Total minutes = pages ÷ pages per minute; days = total minutes ÷ daily minutes; pages per day = pages ÷ days

Assumptions and limitations
- The pace presets are planning assumptions: Slow = 0.25, Average = 0.5 and Quick = 1 page per minute. They do not measure reading ability or account for page density and comprehension.
- All quantities must be positive. Time fields use hours:minutes; 0:30 means 30 minutes, while 1:30 means 90 minutes.
- The period output rounds to one decimal place. A fractional final day may require an additional calendar day; use the underlying time and daily page target to schedule that remainder.
Common questions
How do I enter my own reading speed?
Choose the custom pace option, then enter your measured pages per minute. Divide pages read by the minutes spent reading to estimate that value.
Does this calculate a calendar finish date?
No. It estimates reading periods using the same daily time allowance. Add skipped days, holidays or a partial final session when putting the plan on a calendar.
