Formula and method
A rectangular lot 22 yards wide and 220 yards long covers 4,840 square yards, or exactly 1 acre. At a supplied price of 50,000 per acre, its arithmetic total is 50,000.
Area = length × width; total price = area × price per unit area
Worked example
Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.
- Rectangle width
- 22 yd
- Rectangle length
- 220 yd
- Supplied price per area
- 50000 USD / ac
- Land area
- 1 ac
- Calculated total price
- 50000 USD
Assumptions and limitations
- Models a flat rectangle: area equals length times width. For an irregular parcel, use an independently established area instead of treating two boundary lengths as a rectangle.
- Dimensions, area and prices must be positive. Total price equals the supplied unit price times area; it does not estimate market value, taxes, closing costs or buildable area.
- Uses the international foot and acre, with one acre equal to 43,560 square feet. Area conversion does not determine a parcel’s shape or legal boundaries.
- Where offered, the soccer-field scale is fixed at 105 m × 68 m, or 7,140 m². Actual sports-field dimensions vary.
Common questions
Can I enter known acreage directly?
Yes. Enter the known area and price per acre to calculate the total; dimensions are not required for that price calculation.
What shape does the dimension calculation assume?
A rectangle with perpendicular length and width. It does not reconstruct a surveyed boundary from two distances.
References
The international acre is exactly 43560 square international feet; Bookify replaces the rounded captured area factor.
