What can I learn from a MIDI piano roll?

A piano roll places each note by its pitch and start/end time. Load a MIDI file to inspect its tracks, channels, velocities, and tempo changes, then select a time range or track and export the underlying note data.

What are the limits and details?

Standard MIDI formats 0 and 1 are supported, including PPQ and SMPTE timing. The piano roll shows note-on/off durations, without extending notes for sustain pedals. Playback uses a simple synthesizer rather than the file’s original instruments.

Limits: 2 MB, 128 tracks, 100,000 events, and 20,000 notes. Preview playback covers up to two minutes at a time.
