How do I visualize a nested JSON hierarchy?

Use nodes with a name and either children or a nonnegative numeric value. Parent weights are calculated from their children. Choose a treemap, sunburst or icicle layout, click a branch to zoom, and use the root or path controls to navigate back.

Your data, clearly.

Limits: 2,000 nodes, 30 nesting levels and 500,000 characters.

A little data. A clearer picture.

Choose your data and settings, then draw the chart to explore the details.

  1. Open nested JSON containing named nodes, children and leaf weights.

  2. Choose a treemap, sunburst or icicle layout and draw the hierarchy.

What are the limits and details?

Nodes need a name and optional children or a nonnegative numeric leaf value. Unweighted leaves count as one; parent values are calculated from descendants. This weighted hierarchy viewer does not infer parent relationships from arbitrary JSON.

Limits: 2,000 nodes, 30 nesting levels and 500,000 characters.
