How can I view the images and tables inside a FITS file?

Upload an uncompressed FITS file and inspect its HDU inventory. Choose an extension by its zero-based index. Image HDUs produce a contrast-adjusted preview, with optional slice indexes for a cube; fixed-length tables export a selected row range as CSV. Download the headers, report and preview or table together as a ZIP.

What are the limits and details?

One file up to 8 MB, 32 HDUs and 4,096 cards per HDU; reports retain the first 500 cards per HDU. Images support four axes and eight million values. Tables support 50 columns and 5,000 selected rows per export, with 500 rows shown. Cells retain 1,000 characters or the first 32 array values. Variable-length table arrays, file-level compression, WCS reprojection, calibration and checksum verification are unsupported. BSCALE/BZERO and BLANK are applied. Preview orientation follows pixel axes, not celestial north.
