How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.

Inputs and results stay in this browser tab. Bookify does not upload or store the values you enter.
Formula and method
The worked inputs demonstrate the selected model; change a known value or leave an editable unknown empty for a supported inverse.
V=LWH; dimensional mass=V/divisor

Assumptions and limitations
- Dimensions use the selected units. The carrier divisor is user supplied; 5000 cm³/kg is an example, not a universal tariff.
- Container presets use Hapag-Lloyd example fleet capacities of 33.2, 67.7, 76.3 and 86.0 cubic meters, checked 14 October 2026. Actual equipment varies; volume-only counts ignore packing, doors, payload and securing space.
Common questions
What does this model assume?
Dimensions use the selected units. The carrier divisor is user supplied; 5000 cm³/kg is an example, not a universal tariff. Container presets are nominal captured capacities in cubic feet. A volume-only count ignores packing, door clearance, payload, lashing and unusable space.
How do units and inverse calculations work?
Choose compatible units for each quantity. The model converts quantities internally; supported editable fields can be solved from sufficient independent known values. Display rounding does not change the underlying value.

- Calculation definition and unit reference
The container volume parameter is now cubic meters, matching the attributed dataset. A signed-residual correction makes the floor strict immediately below integer boundaries, where tolerant floor would otherwise overcount. Container presets use Hapag-Lloyd example fleet capacities of 33.2, 67.7, 76.3 and 86.0 cubic meters, checked 14 October 2026. They replace the captured unattributed cubic-foot capacities; actual equipment varies by manufacturer. The count remains a volume-only estimate. Explicit model domains enforce physical bounds and strict whole-count membership where required. Explanatory image content is replaced by original dimension descriptions without changing its visibility. Bookify replaces the captured rounded US gallon with the exact 3.785411784-liter definition.
