How to use this calculator
- Enter the known values in the units shown. Results update as you type.
- Where results are editable, change one to solve backwards. Lock a value to hold it fixed.
- Use the worked example to check the method. Reset restores the starting fields.
Use the result with context
Health results are educational estimates, not a diagnosis or treatment recommendation. A qualified clinician can interpret measurements in the context of your health.
Formula and method
Height1.70m and wrist16cm give ratio10.625, in the female medium-frame convention.
Frame ratio = height / wrist circumference in matching length units.
Worked example
Enter these known values and leave the other values blank.
- Adult frame convention
- Female
- Standing height
- 1.7 m
- Wrist circumference
- 16 cm
- Height to wrist ratio
- 10.6
Assumptions and limitations
- This height-to-wrist ratio convention was used in a2014 study of432 apparently healthy Iranian adults aged18β78. It is an anthropometric grouping, not an ideal weight target, diagnosis or validated assessment for children. Match circumference and height units; the selected female or male convention determines the ratio band.
- The captured ratio is one-way; circumference cannot be solved backward through the output control.
Common questions
How is the ratio calculated?
Convert height and wrist circumference to the same length units, then divide height by circumference.
